Jackie is the leader of the NDN mafia.

History[]

Intimidating the Rez Dogs[]

When Jackie came to town from the city, she put together a gang, called the NDN Mafia. When she heard there was already a gang in town, she, Bone Thug Dog, Weeze, and White Steve watched them in an attempt to intimidate them. Then they came back in a car and shot paintball guns at the Rez Dogs and told them the street they were on was their territory. They also took the copper the Rez Dogs were planning to take and drove slowly passed them to show them what they'd done.[2]

Beating Up Bear[]

Jackie, along with the rest of the NDN Mafia, found Bear while he was walking home and knocked him the ground, then started kicking him. Later the NDN Mafia came to the clinic and the two groups faced off, goading each other until Rita Smallhill broke it up.[3]

Helping Elora[]

Jackie was working at the grocery store when Elora and the other Rez Dogs came in to shop. Bear sent Elora to get plastic utensils. When she couldn't find them, she asked Jackie, who showed her where they were. Jack then asked Elora if she was really friends with Bone Thug Dog when they were kids. Elora said she was, but then they grew apart. Jackie said she also knew that Elora was saving up to go to California, but the other Rez Dogs weren't as serious as she was. Jack offered Elora a place in the NDN Mafia if she got sick of the Rez Dogs.[4]

Being Pulled Over[]

While Cheese was doing a ride along with him, Big pulled over the NDN Mafia. He had gotten a report of a black car like theirs stealing road signs. They told him it wasn't them. Then they asked Cheese if he was surprised to see their car still working as they knew he'd put sugar in the gas tank of a car like theirs. Unfortunately, it was Steve's uncle's car instead of Steve's.[5]

Tornado and Leaving Town[]

Jackie and the NDN Mafia were facing off with the Rez Dogs when they saw that a tornado was approaching the town. They all moved to the church basement to seek shelter. When she and Bear realized they were sitting next to each other when the lights were turned on, they recoiled and the two groups started taunting each other until Big stopped them.

After the tornado passed, Elora picked up Jackie as all the other Rez Dogs had decided they wouldn't be going to California and Jackie had offered gas money to go with her.[6]

As they left town, Elora's GPS messed up and Jackie couldn't get it on her phone, so they stopped to buy an atlas. Jackie also got a fortune from a "Medicine Man" vending machine that warned her to turn from the path she was on. They bought some snacks and a knife along with the atlas, then got back on the road. They were forced to pull over when the car broke down. They took their bags and began walking along the side of the road. As a car approached, they stuck out their thumbs and Victor picked them up, saying he could get them as far as Amarillo. As he drove, he started talking to them about his job and his son, from whom he was estranged. When he asked if they were teenage girls, they became uncomfortable. When he turned off the main road, claiming he was heading to a gas station, they told him to pull over. When he didn't, Jackie kicked him in the face and Elora stabbed him. He pulled over and told them to get out, which they did, leaving their bags behind.

With a few dollars from Jackie's pocket, they got some catfish. Elora told Jackie about Daniel and Jackie said her brother died, too.

Jackie and Elora then started walking. They decided to steal a car, but the owners saw them and some men in a truck started chase them as they fled on foot, firing their guns in the air.[7]

They ran off the road, but the truck followed them. They were finally able to hide behind some hay bales and the men drove off. They walked for a while and crossed a fence. They could hear chickens in the distance, which they knew meant eggs. They decided to wait until dark to steal some and they lay back on the ground to wait. While they waited, Anna, the owner of the property, drove out to check on them and invited them into the house to eat. They went with her and she let them shower while she fixed dinner. After dinner, they both went up to bed. Early the next morning, they stole Anna's keys and took her truck.

They drove back to Jackie's home and got some cash from her mother, who was emotionally closed off. As they left, Jackie asked her friend Johnny Boy if he had a chain to tow a car. They used that to tow Mabel's car home.[8]

Mabel's Death[]

Jackie came to Mabel's house as she was dying. When Willie Jack called Jackie out for not helping cook, Jack admitted she'd never made frybread. Teenie had Jackie come over and offered to show her how to do it.

After everyone ate, Jackie helped Elora to dishes. She asked Elora if they would be getting back on the road once everything was settled and Elora said they would.

At the end of the day, Jackie ended up slumped against Bear on the couch, asleep. When she woke up, she moved away from him. When Cheese asked why she was there, she said it was because her aunt made her come, though Cheese knew that wasn't true.[9]

NARDS Youth Summit[]

Jackie came to the NARDS Youth Summit with Elora. Things got started with MissM8tri@rch and Augusto Firekeeper introducing themselves and then handing out journals for the teens to write a happy memory. When they finished, MissM8tri@rch had them share what they'd written. Jackie reluctantly told a story of her brother teaching her to ride a bike.

Next, Jackie was paired with Bear to do a dance together while holding a potato between their foreheads. They bickered as they danced, but eventually all the other pairs had dropped theirs, making them the winners of the rest of the sack of potatoes.

Later, MissM8tri@rch pulled Jackie and Willie Jack forward to do a trust fall. Willie Jack promised she could catch Jackie despite their conflict, but when Jackie fell backward, Willie Jack stepped back and let her hit the ground. Willie Jack then made a joke about Jackie's brother, so Jackie walked out of the room.

Jackie was crying at the desk when Willie Jack found her and apologized. She didn't know that Jackie's brother had died. Jackie told her to watch her back and walked away again, leaving the summit despite being Elora's ride home.[10]

Cheese's Arrest[]

Jackie watched from across the street as both Charley and Cheese were arrested. She went to Willie Jack and Bear and told them what had happened. As Jackie went to leave, Willie Jack stopped her and offered her one free punch to make things right between them. Jackie faked a punch and then told Willie Jack they were good. The three of them went to get Elora and then the four of them went together to try to break Cheese out of his group home. They were unsuccessful.

After a few days, Big was able to get Cheese from the group home and bring him to Grandma Irene's, where they were all waiting wearing "Free Cheese" shirts.[11]

Getting Mabel's Car[]

When the Rez Dogs decided to go to California to fulfill Daniel's wish, Jackie helped them break into the scrapyard to get Mabel's car, which was still there as Elora didn't have the money to pay Kenny Boy for it. They tried multiple codes in the keypad, but were interrupted when Kenny Boy came out of the bathroom. He gave them the correct code and told them to take the car. He said Elora could pay what she owed when the time was right and told them to be safe.

After they got everything packed and ready, Jackie told Elora to be safer than they were and they might actually make it this time.[12]

Punishment[]

Jackie was punished along with Elora, Bear, Willie Jack, and Cheese. When she questioned why, as she hadn't gone to California, Bev said she'd probably done something else. She and Bear were assigned to sweep and mop the floors of the IHS. While they were working, Bear told her about his trip home, but she thought he was lying about what happened. At the end of the day, all five of them left after finishing their work to go to Sonic.[1]

Retrieving Maximus[]

Jackie went along with the Rez Dogs, Steve, Bone Thug Dog, and Weeze to retrieve Maximus Fixico, whose cousin was dying after decades of estrangement between them. They went to Kenny Boy to borrow a vehicle and he offered to drive them in an old school bus. When they arrived, they went over the plan and agreed that Weeze, Bone Thug Dog, Jackie, and White Steve could join the Rez Dogs with them. Jackie's job was to go with Elora and Cheese and cut the phone lines for the hospital, which they did successfully. After they managed to get Maximus back to the reservation with them, Big brought them all in for interrogations, wanting to put a stop to their string of crimes.[13]

Elora's College Application[]

Jackie and the other Rez Dogs went to University of Oklahoma to support Elora while she filled out paperwork and met with admissions to learn her options for going to school. When Debbie told Elora she needed her father's financial information to get financial aid, they all suggested she just go look for him. When Elora decided to do that, Jackie offered to go with her, but she declined, saying she needed to do it alone.[14]

Fixico's Funeral and Seeing Rita Off[]

When Old Man Fixico died, Jackie was one of the many who came to mourn him. She helped the other women cook for everyone. After the funeral, she and Bear helped his mom pack up to move for her new job.[15]
