Bev is the clinic receptionist and Jackie's aunt.
History[]
Childhood[]
As children, Natalie, Bev, Teenie, Rita, and Cookie were all friends. They choreographed an elaborate dance routine together.[3]
Clinic Day[]
Bear came into the NDN clinic after getting beat up by the NDN Mafia. When Bev noticed he was dripping blood onto the paperwork, she told him to start on a fresh page. Bear said he was surprised they didn't have his information as he'd been to the clinic before and his mother worked there. Bev asked if he'd told his mom and he said he hadn't and didn't want Bev to tell her either.
Later, Elora came in complaining of stomach pains. Bev checked her in.
Bev called Bear back up to the desk because his information didn't match the system, he had to try to remember which address they had. He struggled, but managed to think of the correct address.[4]
Willie Jack's Visit[]
Willie Jack came into the clinic to ask Bev for something of Jackie's, saying she'd put a curse on her and wanted to undo it. Bev offered to refer Willie Jack to drug court, so Willie Jack left empty handed.[5]
Mabel's Death[]
Bev came to Mabel's house as she was dying and brought Jackie as well as some food. She helped cook and shared memories of Cookie with the other aunties as they talked about how Mabel took care of all of them.[6]
IHS Conference[]
Bev attended the IHS conference with Rita, Natalie, and Teenie. They all immediately started looking for men to hook up with. They then went together to the vendors, where Priscilla gave Natalie and Rita, the two mothers, stones to use for pelvic floor exercises while Teenie and Bev got vaginal steams.
When Rita caught the attention of Sam, a doctor, they all encouraged her to snag him. When she agreed to meet him at the bar later, they all went back to the same hotel room, where they set up the vaginal steam for Rita.
Once they were all ready, they went to the bar. Teenie passed out edibles to all of them, though Rita was reluctant to eat hers. Once the marijuana kicked in, the four of them went onto the dance floor, where they imagined themselves performing an elaborate dance routine as they'd done when they were children, but really, they were awkwardly shuffling around the floor.
As the night progressed, they started reminiscing and Rita and Natalie both said they missed the days before they were mothers. This led to a disagreement between them and Teenie, who had no children, but didn't agree that her life was easier because of that. She also pointed out that Bev doesn't have kids, but she does have a niece, which she says is similar. When Teenie left in anger, Bev left to go snag.
Bev found the Seminole man and took him back to her hotel room.
The next morning, they were all hungover as they left the hotel to go back home.[7]
NARDS Youth Summit[]
Bev came to the NARDS Youth Summit. At lunch, she refused to eat because the woman who prepared the food had a grudge against her for snagging her man and son.[8]
Punishing the Rez Dogs[]
Bev worked with Rita and Leon to punish the Rez Dogs for leaving without telling anyone. She also included Jackie in the punishment, claiming that she could do whatever she want because Jackie was living with her and was probably guilty of something. While the kids cleaned the IHS, Bev went back to work. She was walking down the hall when she heard Big in one of the exam areas. She pulled back the curtain and saw him naked from the waist down. Later, when Big was finished, he came to the desk and he and Bev flirted with each other.[1]
Rita's Promotion[]
Bev was happy for Rita when she was offered a promotion that would pay her almost twice as much as her current job. She told Rita to take it, even though it meant moving. Bev said she'd move for a promotion, anywhere except Texas.
When Rita came in the next morning looking rough and saying she'd seen Cookie, Bev squeezed her in to see Larry, the psychiatrist.
Rita came back to Bev the next day and said they needed to do something for Cookie. She acted out Big's sex noises to convince Bev she was telling the truth and then she took Bev and Natalie out to a bridge where they said goodbye to Cookie and told her it was okay to go. Rita then told him she was going to take the promotion and they agreed to watch over Bear if he decided to stay. Rita reminded them they also needed to look out for Elora for Cookie.[2]
Fixico's Funeral[]
When Old Man Fixico died, Bev was one of the many who came to mourn him. She helped the other women cook for everyone. After the funeral, she and Big sneaked off to the woods and hooked up.[9]
